SRC Fall 2020 Postponement Facts

New Conference Dates:
  • The new dates are Thursday, September 30th through Sunday, October 3rd, 2021.
  • The ride to the Tail of the Dragon is set for Thursday, September 30th, 2021. Those going on this all-day ride should consider arriving on Wednesday, September 29th.
  • The conference schedule of events will be basically the same and has been updated on this website to reflect the new 2021 dates.
Lodging:
  • The same room rate (starting at $109 per night) will be available for the 2021 event.
  • More rooms and cabins have been added to the room block so there should be less need for overflow lodging. Overflow lodging will be available.
  • The host hotel, Unicoi Lodge, will automatically move everyone registered in the group block to the new 2021 dates.

    Update 8/25/20 – The Host Hotel (Unicoi Lodge) is in the process of contacting everyone that made reservations in the group room block. You will be given some choices that include moving your reservations to 2021, keeping them for 2020 and booking new reservations for 2021, or canceling your reservations completely. For those that have not been reached by Tuesday, September 1, 2020 your reservations will automatically be moved to the 2021 event dates.

  • The overflow hotel, SureStay, will also automatically move everyone registered in the SureStay group block to the new 2021 dates. However, because of computer software limitations, the SureStay is unable to take any new reservations for the 2021 conference until November 1, 2020.
  • If you wish to cancel or change your room reservation, you will need to contact the hotel.
  • Those that made a room deposit and cancel, the deposit will be returned by the hotel.
  • Those still wishing to visit Helen in September of 2020 on their own will still receive the reduced room rate and will need to contact the hotel to work out the details.
Registration:
  • Members have the option to remain registered for the 2021 event.
  • Any conference registrations and t-shirt orders already made or made before September 1st for 2020 at the current rate ($70 per member/$130 per couple) will be honored for the 2021 event.
  • Registrations made after September 1st, 2020 will increase to $80 per member/$150 per couple.  This increase is necessary to offset the increased costs associated with hosting the event in 2021.
Refunds:
  • GA XI will honor the promise of a full registration refund if the event is canceled because of COVID-19. A full refund will be given to those that request it, otherwise, those already registered for Fall 2020 will be carried over to Fall 2021.
  • If you receive a refund you will need to re-register for the 2021 event. The registration fee and t-shirt cost for the 2021 event will increase slightly.
  • Registrations made after September 1st, 2020 will increase to $80 per member/$150 per couple.  This increase is necessary to offset the increased costs associated with hosting the event in 2021.
  • GA XI wishes to make the process of requesting a refund simple. To avoid members having to email or make phone calls to request a refund, and for more accurate record-keeping, a simple form has been provided on this website to request a refund.
Coming Anyway?
  • GA XI and the host hotel is happy to accommodate members that are still coming in 2020.
  • GA XI will be there and available to assist members, and advise members on places to eat, things to do, etc.
  • GA XI will lead a ride to the Tail of the Dragon and offer a few other rides for members that are interested.
  • GA XI will post more details soon for members that are still coming.
